$27 a night for a camp out in the scrub is a bit steep especially when there are just two toilets in about 20 acres, you drive to get a shower and not a lot in the way of level bits or grass. The camp sites are in the shadow of a ridge looking east to the southern (outside) ridge of the pound so sun rises late and sets early, not great for solar. Didnt price powered sites closer to main facilities, but they were the usual sardine spacing. Wilpena itself is a 30km drive but if you have a dog Rawnsley is about as close as you will get. We were there late July and it was cold and very windy with rain setting in as we left.

Rawnsley Station provides a bush camp experience, whether powered or unpowered. If you want kerb guttering, sealed roads and lawns then Rawnsley is not for you. Scenic flights and 4wd tours are available but expensive. Amenities, kitchen and laundry are well set up although the clothes lines are in need of an upgrade. There is a shop on-site with a limited range of groceries so bring your own. Diesel is $2.16l so be prepared. The sites are deep and wide, enough for big rigs. My only beef here is that not many of the sites are really flat. I had problems levelling my rv. My time at Rawnsley Park was very enjoyable and I highly recommend a stay here.

This park had excellent facilities and great service by the staff. We were backed up to a dry river bed and enjoyed watching the bird life and sheep wandering through. Splashed out on a helicopter flight which was fantastic and a guided 4WD tour. Natural surroundings, no lawn. Wonderful!
