A ranger was harassing a young camper that we were talking to. Than started laying down rules to us. Telling us no domestic animals aloud than got out his note pad and pen. He was very rude. So we walked away from him. And the toilets where filthy the dirtiest we've come accross. bins where over flowing with waist and toilets full of waist and paper not pleasant. Not a pleasant experience from a nasty ranger with no PR skills at 10 to 5pm in the afternoon.

This area provides excellent freedom camping. The lake views are stunning. There is oodles of space so there is no need to be cramped by other campers. There is a toilet block that is open during daylight hours. There is an oval and a kids playground. There is even a fenced dog park. The maximum stay is 48 hours for self contained vehicles.

Top spot, quiet and peaceful. There are facilities if required but they are a good walk from the camping area.

Fantastic free camp. Must be fully self contained. Acres of space. October long weekend 2020. Over 150 caravans, motorhomes and tents, and still room for more. Top marks to Lithgow council. Only drawback is I couldn’t find a tap to fill up for drinking water, except at the dump point, no thanks.

Great spot to spend a couple of days, with hot showers and toilets available during the day. Plenty of different areas and lots of space. Can be busy on long weekends.

Wow what a wonderful spot. The wildlife is amazing. Thank you to all who make such places available to us all. The water is next to a post with a blue vertical marker on the left as you drive straight ahead past the first cross roads go slow it's hard to spot. Also by the off leash dog area there is a tap.

Beautiful large location, but you really must be self contained, as camp sites near the lake are a long way from the showers and toilets, which are locked at 4pm weekdays and 6pm weekends.

We had a great stay and still $0. It's a huge area of many acres so there's was lots of space between the 6 or 7 overnighters during our stay. Sites with best views of the lake are farthest from the amenities but there are plenty of options closer to the amenities if required. It's a pleasant walk to town which included a chemist, bakery and a good coffee shop at the old train station.

This is a huge area at lakeside with various sites to choose from. Many of the sites are a fair way from facilities so being self contained is an advantage. Should imagine it could be very busy in peak times with lovely views of the lake and surrounding areas.

plenty of space, and tents and camper trailers are now welcome. amenities are now left unlocked 24/7, but were originally setup for day use so take a torch. camping restricted to 48hrs, but plenty of people look like they've been setup for longer.

Top spot, plenty of bird life, plenty of space. If your into fishing rainbow trout can be caught. Large off lead in closer. Everywhere else dogs on lead, saw Ranger at 7.30am in the morning making rounds. Great amenities toilets and showers to the left of main entrance.
