About

The Location

The Nyroca Camp and Function Centre is situated in the town of Wangary, on the Eyre Peninsula, approximately 682 kilometres by road from Adelaide. Wangary is a small village first surveyed in 1871, and many historical buildings remain of this era, including the Old Lake Wangary Hotel, now operating as a general store.

The Nyroca campground is a peaceful bush retreat, nine kilometres north of Wangary. Unpowered sites are available for $15 per vehicle night, or powered sites at $20 per vehicle per night. The use of showers and toilets are included, barbecue facilities are on site and pets are welcome on leads. The function centre can be hired, and is equipped with modern kitchen facilities – perfect for chapter get-togethers and special occasions.

With the maximum stay negotiable, Nyroca makes an ideal base to explore the surrounding highlights such as the Marble Ranges, Coffin Bay and Port Lincoln. To the east of the town is Lake Wangary, one of the few fresh water lakes found on the peninsula.

Cost: Unpower $15pvpn, Power $20pvpn August 2018.

Parking: Negotiable time limit, pets on a lead permitted.

This is a lovely place run by nice people. Inexpensive plus the bonus of a free washing machine. The start of the entrance is a bit steep but even a front wheel drive makes easily. Chickens and baby lambs roaming and with luck you might be given some free range eggs. If you want relaxation and don’t need beach front mark this one down as a goodie.

The camp has just re-opened with a new caretaker. Officially there is no portable water on site as it's all rainwater but we drunk it after boiling. New volunteer caretaker is slowly fixing things up if you are a scout you'll love it. We stayed a couple of nights.

Super little setup on a Scout camp. Caretaker Malcolm is a great guy and runs a happy spot. If you want peace rather than the beach try this one.
