The Location

Milligan Island Camping Node situated just off Indian Ocean Drive, located between the towns of Green Head and Leeman, is the Milligan Island Camping Node. Opened in December 2016, the camping node hosts 36 camp sites, 2 long drop toilet facilities, 3 shade shelters,  2 gas bbqs, and is ideal for self sufficient caravans/RV’s and campers looking for a quiet spot out of town, close to the beach. As this is an eco tourist site, there is no running water or power.

The camp site is situated within a short walking distance to the beach. The bay (Billygoat Bay) curves for about a kilometre, with views to the off shore islands.

Gas barbecues have been installed, most sites would suit most small to medium vans but a tight squeeze for large rigs.

It's to far off Indian Ocean Drive for only 2 nights max. The cost could be a lot lower. The sites are too small for 20 plus foot vans. It would be great if they had a gas Barbie.

There are 3 "nodes" all connected. Each site is hard, level, well fenced and separated by 15 metres or so from adjoining sites. Sites vary in size so big rigs through to small motorhomes well catered for. Facilities are new, biotoilets clean and not smelly. Covered BBQ areas, but no camp kitchen. No water or dump point, these are available nearby in Greenhead. No beach views, dunes provide some shelter from WA early summer winds, but good track to beach 100 metres. Road into Milligan is dirt, some small corrugations and quite usable for 2wd and low clearance motor homes etc.

An excellent campsite, well set up with ample space for each unit, close to the beach. Definitely worth the very short drive off the main road.
