LAKE BALLARD & ANTONY GORMLEY’S “INSIDE AUSTRALIA”

You’re invited to visit Australia’s largest outdoor gallery. It’s at Lake Ballard, near Menzies in Western Australia’s Goldfields. It’s the creation of Turner Prize-winning artist Antony Gormley… and it’s called INSIDE AUSTRALIA.  Take the journey…

You can freely camp at Lake Ballard but only in the designated camping area.

Please be aware that during the Easter long weekend, camping space is at a premium.

As there is no suitable drinking water at Lake Ballard, you must bring sufficient water with you to meet your drinking and other needs.

The Shire of Menzies has fire restrictions that apply from November through to March. During April – October, open fires are permitted but must be contained within the cement fire rings provided within the camping site. You also need to bring your own fire wood.

The Lake Ballard camping site features self-composting toilets.

Alternatively, if you prefer not to camp at Lake Ballard, the Shire of Menzies has a caravan park in the town. For further enquiries, please contact the Menzies Visitor Centre on 08 9024 2702.

Peaceful camp-site beside Lake Ballard. Toilet clean. Need to check road condition in Menzies before you go out to the Lake. Sculptures were good.

Sandy camp sites, but easy access. Clean toilets and rubbish bins provided. Sculptures are worth seeing.
