The Location
Broadwater (Abergowrie National Park) is a great place for a day visit. It has covered picnic areas with gas barbecues, picnic tables, toilets and cold showers.
Choose from short walks, swimming, birdwatching, or just relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility that the forest has to offer.
The sizeable open areas cater for large groups.Broadwater camping area provides opportunities to enjoy the surrounding rainforest and creek environments and provides sites for small and large groups, and caravans.
It is a very popular camping area during weekends and school holidays. Ensure you book well in advance to avoid disappointment.Camping permits are required and fees apply.
Camping area features: a shady area under tall eucalypt trees, with a cool creek nearby.
Location: 16 km from the forest entrance.
Access: the camping area can be reached by conventional vehicle. It is accessible to trailers, caravans, buses and motorhomes.
Number of sites: 13 sites (separate but not numbered) and 2 large open areas without separately defined sites.
Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, walk-in camping, caravans, camper trailers, motorhomes and large groups.
Camp site surface: grass.
Facilities: water (treat all water before drinking), flushing toilets, cold showers, picnic tables, gas barbecues (in day-use area), communal fire rings and a bulk rubbish bin.
Open fires: allowed in fire rings only (except when fire bans apply). Fuel stoves are recommended.
Generators: Generators are permitted between 9am and12 pm (midday). Generators must only be operated at less than 65dB(A), when measured 7m from the generator.
Essentials to bring: fire wood, insect repellent and rubbish bags.
