The Location
Situated In the heart of the Mallee and built in 1938, the Kaneira Hotel is the most exciting hotel complex in the region spending almost 80 years watering the most-thirsty and feeding the hungry. The most fabulous hosts Leigh And Marty! If you are headed out of Melbourne or returning on the A79 Do consider or even include in your planning to spend a night with the incredibly generous and hospitable hosts at the Kaneira Hotel, owned and run by Leah and Marty in Culgoa … this lovely couple freely gave us the use of their fully fenced back yard for our SC MH for the night, (completely flat) welcomed our fur baby, we parked along side of an array of the MOST loved chooks and goats fenced in… Leah cooked what hubby told me were the best lamb shanks and veges for dinner, (huge meal) full free use of their lovely upstairs shower, loo and bathroom facilities and we left with 1 dozen free range eggs for $4.00. These ppl could not do enough for us a their guests … we urge u to pop in for a beer, (they have a local barley brew on tap) a meal or just a quiet over night stop about 300km north west of Melbourne. Please support these amazing folk and their quaint little town! Thank you sooooo much Leigh and Marty for offering your hospitality ( overnight stop, showers, loos,free of charge)… we will return ! P.S. This council of this little town of just 87 residents also provides the cleanest public loos and free shower in the Main Street … bloody well done Buloke Shire !!!
