The Location
Munbililla (Tomato Island) Campground is located on the banks of the beautiful Roper River within Limmen National Park. The Campground is 300km from Katherine and 290 km from Borroloola in the Gulf.
Campground facilities include 50 camping sites and three satellite campgrounds which have ten sites each. Hot and cold showers, laundry facilities.
It is a fantastic place for fishing and exploring the area.
Wheelchair access and facilities are available. 3 Satellite Campgrounds are also available with 10 sites each. Toilets and a designated fire areas are available at these three sites.

Straight off the highway and into this well organised location. Excellent amenities including hot showers, campfire pits provided, boat ramp. Great for a night stop over or a few days for the keen fisherman.

All the NT Parks campsites in Limmen National Park must now be booked and paid for on line. This change came in April 2022. It may also apply to other NT parks.

Excellent remote bush camp on the Roper River along the Savannah Way. Nice hot showers a pleasant surprise, bbq’s, fire pits and even some patches of grass. Friendly camp manager lives on site and has plenty of useful advice on the fishing (excellent) and the roads (rough!)…and yes there are saltwater crocs resident in the river! Only downside is generators are allowed to run all day, (7.30am - 8.30pm), so you need to be careful selecting your campsite if you don’t want the beautiful sounds of the bush interrupted! Both camp and park fees apply, which need to be applied for online, but there is good internet at the campground. Highly recommend.
