This is a free rest area for day use only. No overnight stays permitted. The Little Blue Lake is a small lake that used to have crystal clear bluish water. However, due to excessive pollution in recent times, the lake water has turned a muddy green. The greenish colour of this lake is due to excessive algae growth in its water. As per a survey, the amount of agricultural fertilizers was high in this lake water.
After the recent cleaning projects, the lake has become a clean and clear. Recently, the lake was declared as chemical-free, however, the trace of blue green algae is still noticeable.
The Little Blue Lake is a popular diving and swimming spot of this area, with many people coming here to enjoy the cenote-style sinkhole. Due to its high popularity, the local council has built a stepped walkway, which leads to a floating pontoon on the lake. With such options, swimmers will find it easy to access the lake and swim in the water.
Sightseers can always come here for a scenic walk and moderate hiking experience
Very quiet in the evening but quite busy with swimmers during the day. Plenty of room with a level gravel surface. No amenities so you need to be fully self-contained
