About

The Location

From the Top End of Australia, position yourself centrally in Kakadu World Heritage National Park and connect with the land and the oldest living culture on earth. Delight in the remote and rugged nature that Australia’s largest national park offers.

Explore the rugged escarpments, scenic swimming pools, wetlands, native wildlife and ancient rock art. Kakadu has been home to the Bininj/Mungguy people for over 65,000 years and here they will teach you about their ancient culture and history. Get ready for an experience that is insightful and truly grounding.

For stays in the caravan park, they do not take forward bookings, as they have plenty of powered and unpowered sites for you to choose from.

Aurora Kakadu Lodge and Caravan Park is located on Jabiru Drive and has self-contained, air-conditioned studio, one and two-bedroom cabins, lodge rooms, powered and unpowered camping sites and the well-regarded open air Poolside Bar and Bistro, which sits alongside a large swimming pool. Top spot in Kakadu with green grassy areas and a lovely pool to cool off in

One of the better Caravan Parks in NT, flat ground, with multiple amenities + bar & restaurant. However when you are paying $47 a night there should be a dump point. Was told that there was one outside on the main road, 50m (more like 200m) from the entrance. A quick walk around the park & a keen sense of smell reveals late night dumping spots. Plus you have to pay $30 per person for the privilege of being in Kakadu or as people are saying Kakadont. When you are paying top $ the services should be there, not good enough to rely on natural attractions !!!

This park is no longer offering the CMCA members 10% discount. When I asked they said they had cancelled it last year. There is plenty of flat land for unpowered sites and the facilities are good, with bar, dining and swimming pool. We stayed overnight to use the launderette and restock in town.
