The Location

Geranium is a small farming community in South Australia; aptly named because of the beautiful geraniums that grow and flourish in this area. Geranium is a beautiful kept town and is home to a hall, two churches, a general store, sporting facilities and the only bowling green in the area.

The Geranium Oval is an ideal location to stop-over and explore this tidy town. Heading south from Mallee Highway, to access the Oval, go across the railway crossing in town and turn right into the Oval (roughly 50 metres from the crossing).

Parking at Geranium Oval is available free of charge for an unpowered site and $10 per vehicle per night for a powered site. (Please phone Helen Jarvis to arrange a powered site). Here you will have access to covered seating, toilets, rubbish bins and limited potable water.

Clean and quiet. caretaker met me as I was setting up to ask if I needed power. The potable water is limited by the level in the rainwater tank. At the moment it is full and more rain is forecast so he told me to take what I wanted. He also advised that generators are allowed but I would suggest that they be used sparingly
