The Location

The last of the crossings on the Overland Telegraph Track and the most notorious.

This crossing claims many cars every year due to the depth of the water. Vehicle preparation must be adhered to and most times it is wise to be towed across due to the soft sandy bottom.

Campsites are available both sides of the crossing but the pick is the northern side.

We camped on the southern side to the left of the entry into the crossing - nice and flat. The steep entry does drop into a deep hole - we went to the far far right and entered over a bank. While it is a tight entry and there is a stump on the right as you enter with someone guiding you you will miss the stump and exit safely without drowning your vehicle.
