About

The Location

It was the infamous Burke and Wills who first discovered the beauty of Cloncurry in 1861. Now it’s your turn. Discovery Parks – Cloncurry is the perfect place to stay while you immerse yourself in our rich local history. Our caravan park will be a welcome base during your touring holiday of the ‘Great Australia’ – so-named by the founder of Cloncurry, Ernest Henry in 1867.

Conveniently located near the town centre, this park is the ideal location from which to explore local attractions and the surrounding region. Our accommodation ranges from beautifully shaded camp or powered caravan sites to comfortable cabins. Our self-contained standard cabins sleep 4 to 5 and feature en-suite bathroom, TV, kitchenette with microwave and verandah.

You can play ‘pioneer’ in our well-appointed camp kitchen (with a little more luxury than our original explorers) and enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool to start your morning or wind down after your day of sightseeing.

Stayed two nights to break up a couple of long drives. Sites were all grass and had reasonable coverage of grass and were level. Sites are large with plenty of space. Campground has many cabins for local miners but it was quiet. The amenities are fairly clean. It is a little way out of town but a short walk into town. The Cloncurry Bakery near Woolworths had nice bread, pies and pastries but get them early in the day as they sell quickly. Bread is not a problem.
