The Location

Pinnaroo is a lovely town in the Murray Mallee region of South Australia and is located near the Victorian border, approximately 243 kilometres east of Adelaide.

Pinnaroo RV Stop is located on the corner of South Terrace and Main Street, and offers RV tourists a place to stopover for up to 96 hours. This RV stop is only available for self-contained vehicles as there are no facilities close by. There is mobile coverage in the area, and dogs on leads are permitted. A dump point is located at the wetlands, near the BP Roadhouse.

During your time in town, be sure to visit the Mallee Tourist and Heritage Centre, the wetlands, swimming pool and golf course. For those who love a little adventure, there are great bushwalking and 4WD tracks nearby.

Very large area behind and beside the old croquet courts. There are a couple of different entrances to the area from 3 different roads. Plenty of room for large rigs. NO facilities on site, but toilets within walking distance. Dump point and water located at wetlands park next to new BP truckstop. Short walk to bakery, pub, foodlands supermarket and museum.

Pinnaroo Rv Stopover was a pleasant surprise even though we found that there did not appear to be any sort of well signed entrance. We could not drive in what appeared to be the dedicated entrance with our 31foot motorhome and car in tow because of low trees but we found it very easy to find a suitable stop to camp for the night. Being aware of our generator noise I discovered that there were very few neighbours in the immediate area and I am sure there was plenty of distance so that it would not be annoying to anyone. It would be good to actually have an Entrance sign so people know where to go. There was one sign only stating that it was a RV destination and I think there needs to be at least two more on either ends of the property as the area is quite large. Apart from those few observations I think this is a great spot for weary travellers such as ourselves.

A very tidy level camping area, no facilities on site. The town is very welcoming and the sausage rolls from the bakery were tasty for our morning tea. Good to see other vehicles had stayed overnight here.
