We have stayed here a few times and always felt welcome and safe. It can be a little soft after heavy rain so pays to check before entering. Signage regarding grey water, an issue with some folk in town so please retain. Development works on main street and silo art just north of town, which is illuminated at night. A great place to visit.

This free camping area runs along the river bank just one street below the High Street shops which includes two pubs, antiques, gifts and an opp shop. The wide area stretches along the river for several blocks which gives you heaps of options. There are plenty of trees, but also open sunny areas. It is mostly flat but some sections looked a bit damp in the showery August weather. There are no toilets here but depending where along the river bank you choose, the main street toilets, or those at Lions RV park (which is fairly small) are not too far away unless it's urgent. Make sure you wander through the beautiful Chinese garden which are just opposite the free camping area closer to the southern end. Yes, we'd definitely stay here if passing through again.

This favourite site only gets better. Close to town with views of the river. Council have improved signage regarding no fires or grey water. So lovely to not have black spots. Please respect the town's request. The largest number of vehicles here tonight ever seen.
