The Location
Horseshoe Bay Resort and Caravan Park, where the bush really does meet the beach, is situated at the tip of Cape Edgecumbe here in Bowen. A special little spot where the sun rises and sets over the water, and the bay never runs out of water.
The resort is surrounded by four sandy beaches and the reef is just off shore making for some amazing snorkeling and diving - it has been said to be as good as the great barrier reef.
The lovely sandy beach is patrolled by the Queensland Surf Life Savers during the school holidays and on weekends in stinger season. There is also a handy boat ramp close by so that you can access the many great fishing spots that Bowen has to offer.
The Horseshoe Bay Resort is on the circuit of one of the most scenic bush walks in the area, with rocky granite outcrops, ocean views, beach walks, fauna and flora, all for you to enjoy. The resort is set on 5 acres of bush and tropical gardens at the end of Horseshoe Bay Road, just 5kms from town with a bus shelter at the front door and a paved walking track. There are two restaurants and a cafe all within a short walk, as well as the weekly Sunday markets.
This is a great place for anyone interested in swimming, diving, snorkeling, fishing, walking, cycling, kayaking, rock climbing or just plain old-fashioned relaxing - do as much or as little as you like.

Overpriced, old most of the facilities look as though they date back to the 60’s only three grassy sites in entire area, surface of swimming pool badly deteriorated. And shower The road noise from big and driving up and over the small hull went on for hours floor absolutely disgusting. $42
