The Location
Sea Lake is located in the Mallee district of north-west Victoria on the southern shores of Lake Tyrrell. Situated on the Calder Highway in the heart of Australia’s wheat belt, Sea Lake is 369 kilometres north-west of Melbourne.
Located in close proximity to several major national parks, including Wyperfeld and Hattah-Kulkyne national parks, Sea Lake is a great area to stay while exploring the region.
The western side of Travellers Rest, located on Calder Highway in Sea Lake, is the ideal stop-over with access to toilets, showers, bins, covered seating, water and barbecue facilities. There is a fee of $10 per vehicle per night to stay here and potable water and a dump point are available just through Travellers Rest at the side of Sea Lake Caravan Park.
To the south of Sea Lake is Green Lake, a large freshwater lake. A popular spot for water sports and a holiday retreat, the Lake has served the surrounding communities well over the past few years.

A great stopover and obviously new. Close to the highway but traffic noise minimal after dark.

This facility is obviously new and extremely well thought out. Toilets, showers, two free electric BBQ,s, tables and seating. A real credit to the Buloke Shire. Well done. Parking is behind the facilities, close to the highway, but noise is not a problem.

The Travellers Rest is excellent. Off street parking can be accessed by turning off the A79 into Best Street (then a quick turn right) or Hannon street (and then a quick turn left). Showers, toilets, disabled facilities available. Stainless steel gas BBQs and covered area.

A lovely town with beautiful murals on the silos. The situation with the Travellers Rest has changed and the only camping is in the Sea Lake Caravan Park. The pink Lake Tyrrell is only 8km north and well worth the drive to see the new info complex and walk. There is also a rest area there.
