Gorge Road Katherine, Northern Territory, 0850
Some of this Park's amazing features include spectacular dissected sandstone country, broad valleys and numerous, significant cultural sites.
The deep gorge carved through ancient sandstone by the Katherine River is the central attraction of the Park.
Nitmiluk National Park is located in the Top End of Australia's Northern Territory. The Park has two main points of visitor access.
The Park's main entrance is located 30 km northeast of Katherine via a sealed road. Katherine is located 310 km south of Darwin along the Stuart Highway.
Leliyn (Edith Falls) on the western side of the Park, is reached by turning off the Stuart Highway 42km north of Katherine then following a sealed road for a further 19km.
One of the nicest low cost camp sites we have stayed at. Sites are well marked out & each site has its own lawn area surrounded by shady trees with sunny areas too if needed for solar. Operates on a first come basis & was very busy during our 2 night midweek stay so suggest you arrive early to ensure a site. Clean amenities with hot showers for a very reasonable $20 per night unpowered. Drinking water is available. The top pools & waterfall are spectacular & well worth the walk. A cooling dip at the top before walking back to camp is not to be missed. A small cafe operates on site providing basic hot food (hot chips etc) & cold drinks. We loved our stay here.

used to be $20 now $39! however great spot if you can get in as busy. More like a caravan park with all facilities plus coffee shop and bar bit of a shame with all the natural beauty there. Do the walk to the top falls so worth it.

A delightful National Park campground. There are only unpowered sites but there are good facilities with hot showers. The camping area was shady, flat and well grassed with plenty of sprinklers. There was a good kiosk. Swimming in the very large and lovely pool below the falls is just a short walk away. There is a good walk to the upper pools for the active. The campground is perfect for birders, you do not need to move from your chair in the shade of your home. WARNING Although the made road from the highway is an excellent made road suitable for any vehicle, go very, very slowly over the railway crossing near the highway.

A well set out campground. We were there in July (NT) school holidays and it was very busy. You really needed to be in by midday to get a site. The swimming area is terrific - plenty of room. There is a kiosk with only the most basic stuff.
