The Location

The Rotary Community Park in Echuca is located 212 kilometres north of Melbourne. Echuca is an historical Murray River town, settled in 1854 and once one of the busiest inland ports in Australia. Visitors today can relive the times of early river traders by taking a paddle steamer cruise along the Murray River and exploring the remains of the red gum wharf, originally constructed in 1865. The park is home to the ‘Steam Rally’ held annually on the Queen’s long weekend each year. The event showcases more than 700 exhibits with steam engines, vintage cars, a wood chopping competition and other entertainment.‘Foodies’ and wine lovers vising the Echuca Moama region can also enjoy a day taking in the Food and Wine Trail, which highlights local wineries, producers and dining venues.

The Rotary Community Park welcomes self-contained RV travellers to stay for up to 48 hours for $10 per vehicle per night. Bins and water are accessible at the park, and pets are permitted on leads.

Echuca is a wonderful place to visit, especially for RV Travellers.

Dropped in for the night, $10 donation. We are completely self contained in our Winnebago Leisure Seeker so not needing a use any local facilities. Plenty of space and quiet.

Stopped here last night. Friendly and informative caretakers. Town water is available. Has 2 DP though one closed off for maintenance. Plenty of room available.

Nov16: Most excellent camp spot in the town of Euchuca. Very large area where you can choose from a range of spots either at the steamfest area or down lower on the river bank. Plenty of spots have lovely views to the Campaspe River. Excellent for bird watching. Minimum donation of $5 suggested. No access to toilets (but there are toilets at Lions Park 1km away). Good dump point & drinking water tap for filling tanks. Walking track along the river in to the CBD & historic port area. Nice and quiet both day & night. Highly recommended.

Stopped at this lovely spot first night no issues and put in the recommended amount. Decided to return there late 2nd night after full day of sight seeing and trip on Paddle steamer (fantastic). I found the water taps had been removed and was informed by other campers that the caretaker on sight was seen removing the taps in the afternoon. Not happy after 2 days 40 degrees temps and lots of travelling. Dump sight fine but taking off the taps seems a bit mean and unsafe when advertised water available.

Very large area with plenty of space to choose from for all size rigs. Dump point and town water tap available. Donations accepted for casual use of these services or $10 donation for overnight stay. Drop toilets. About 10 mins from CBD.
