The Location
This free 48 hour rest area is located on the banks of the Snowy River. It is located beside the road. It is large enough for any size rig and has plenty of grass to camp on. The facilities here are a picnic table and dogs are allowed. Campfires and generators are not permitted.

Stayed here over Christmas for two periods of 48 hours. Dump station is a few kilometres away at Orbost. The Snowy River Reflections were magnificent. That's why we came back. Close to busy road but the traffic noise didn't bother us.

There is now a platform down at the river and a hand rail along the short path to the river.

Nice shady area, limited spaces. Nice swim entry for a dip in the river
