The Location
Jaycee Island, with its magnificent towering Moreton Bay Figs and exotic Bunya Bunya Pines, is the perfect place to camp overnight. Jaycee Island sits on the walking track around Benalla Lake, which passes over Jaycee Island and through the Benalla Botanical Gardens.
It is a small space and campers must be self-sufficient and have their own bathroom facilities. This parking space is short term only and campers can stay up to two nights. It is accessed via the council carpark at the rear.

A beautiful overnight spot in the township close to the library but behind the bitumen carpark and skatepark. Follow the signs which also state no parking on the grass. Only room for a few vehicles. Nice and quiet and within walking distance from shops. The ambience of the wetlands is beautiful.

A terrific quiet area among tall trees, free,sign says 3 vans only,but 6 of us here in Sunday. Great painted murals 'everywhere, and shops only 100m away.. Max stay 2 nights. Wonderful

Now only two marked long vehicle sites measuring about 11 metres but I would reckon you could find room for bigger rigs after 6pm and on weekends. One block from main street. Three short blocks to swimming pool and showers. Aldi and Woolies about half a km. Closest toilets under library are 7am to 7pm but 24 hour toilets are 220metres on other side of the bridge. Broken River about 50 metres beyond grasses picnic area. Town is full of very friendly people!

A lovely place for a short stay, but under trees which make it interesting in the wind. Not suited to really long vehicles, the turning circle is limited once a couple of campers are in situ. Handy to so much of Benalla, and a great location.

A very nice spot. Toilets and water(?) are a few minutes walk from site. Follow path to public amenities located behind library. Well marked on and off leash areas for dogs. lovely BBQ and picnic areas.

Follow signs under the no camping sign at back of sealed car park. Says 8 maximum.
