The Location

Northern section of the two Calliope River rear areas, joined by an old road bridge that is now pedestrians only. Large area though along the roadway is flattest. Plenty of grass area too but need to be careful in wet weather. Close to the Bruce Highway but can get far enough away for a good nights sleep. Kiosk in nearby historical village is open daily 9 - 3. Limit is 48 hours. Stays permitted for those travelling in self-contained vehicles only. Please note, there are no toilets available on-site.

Peaceful enough free camp on the river. Toilets locked, must be self contained. River and creek beds can flood easily, stick to higher ground. Historical Village open 9-3 daily, nice for a stroll to look around.
