About

The Location

Possum Park is a multi-functional venue that provides excellent facilities for Races, Campdrafting and Pony Club. It is also the ideal place to hold everything from weddings to 21st birthday parties. The facility was built on the original site for the old racecourse and consists of a large steel shed that overarches a modern bar and kitchen facilities. The base is a concrete slab which lends itself to an ideal spot for a range of things from bookmakers stalls to an instant dance floor.  The structure is built up on a higher elevation which provides an excellent viewing point to watch the action. Surrounding the area there is a healthy thick kikuyu lawn that is maintained by volunteers.

Possum Park gets it’s name from the resident possum who lives in the ceiling and of course is nocturnal therefore has only been sighted by some late night revellers!

Possum Park is home to the Injune Campdrafting Association who conduct one of Australia’s largest campdrafting events on the Anzac weekend every year. Campdrafting is a unique Australian Sport and Injune is also home to some champion campdrafters.

Injune has a very strong Pony Club with scores of children coming from near and far with their horses to compete in events. The season for Pony Club is in the winter months and there is an event on every weekend.

Camping sites at Possum Park can be booked at the Injune Visitor Information Centre. There are a number of powered sites, these sites can not be prebooked.

Had planned on staying here, but ground is hard road base only, very little shade, still plenty vans there, but not for us.

Good level area suitable for big rigs. Clean amenities. Friendly caretaker. About 200 metres of good gravel road from the highway. Pay at the info centre in town before arriving. We used it as an overnight stop. Powered or unpowered sites available at a very reasonable cost. Can be a little dusty when very dry but not much movement.
